Hello. My name is Spejbl and I'm the oldest character of the Spejbl and Hurvínek Theatre. I'm the father of Hurvin, a comic character with a booming voice who gets things a bit confused. In conversations with Hurvínek, there are often generational disputes, in which I am often considered a dunce who wants to lecture everyone, while Hurvínek is always the whiny and clingy son who puts me on the spot with his nosy questions. Enough explaining, let's play a game together!
Finally, I'd like to add a bit of history. I first introduced myself in the autumn of 1920, when I appeared alongside Kaspárek as a trapeze artist. From 1926 onwards I was cast in plays together with my son Hurvinek, which was written in the same year. The plays, based on our dialogue, quickly gained considerable popularity. Radio programmes, gramophone records and books were also produced. In 1930, the first Czech professional puppet theatre, the Spejbl and Hurvínek Theatre, was founded.
